Great episode and analysis. I listened to this multiple times to ensure KD was being sarcastic or not 🙂 . Either case EPIC rant!! I do agree with some points that Eng did not bring a serious attack. I felt they just tried to develop Bashir and Hartley in this tour ( without giving them proper game time in the previous seasons to prep for this tour). To me this is a question of player development. It is good to come with a 4 spinner squad but they must have matches under their belts PRIOR to boarding that plane to India. Joe root bowling more than Anderson up to the second or even third test is just plain pathetic. Anderson plays only one format and should not underbowled like this.
When you brought up the flipped scenario where India goes to England with a non serious attack- unfortunately IMO yes there has been a precedent- the 2011 India’s test tour to England. Indian squad was in transition & jaded post 2011 World Cup & IPL. Zak was injured and they got RP Singh from Florida who was clearly not ready. The quicks had insane workloads ( no more than 3 played per game) and spinners were just hanging around not doing any real bowling. Looking back they could have given up and just troll-bowled more. It was plain sad to see the flogging.
KD was not sarcastic! He rarely is.
